Who you're working with

Aligned-AI (aligned-ai.co) is the consulting practice of Lara Jackson, based in North Carolina, USA. "I" and "me" means Lara and Aligned-AI. "You" means the person or organization using the site or buying from me. By using the site or buying something, you agree to these terms.

Using the site

• The articles, guides, quiz, and free tools are general information to help you think through your business. They aren't legal, financial, tax, or HR advice. For those, talk to a qualified professional.
• Quiz scores and estimates are rough guides based on your answers, not guarantees.
• Please don't misuse the site: no scraping it in bulk, attacking it, or submitting someone else's information.

Free tools and templates

You're welcome to use and adapt the free tools and templates, like the AI policy template, inside your own business or organization. Please don't resell them or republish them as your own. Share the link instead.

Paid products and services

Free 20-minute call

Free, with no obligation. We talk through how your week runs and what's worth building. Nothing is charged for the call.

Workshops ($35 to $45)

Paid when you register. Each workshop runs live once. Everyone who registers gets the recording by email after the session, whether or not they attend live. There are no make-up sessions, and tickets aren't refundable.

Setups and builds

Take Off a Hat (or Two), AI policy projects, and custom builds are scoped on a call first. I'll confirm what's included, the price, and the timeline in writing before you pay. A 50% deposit reserves your start date, and the balance is due when your build is live. Each build includes two weeks of tweaks after launch. Ongoing care ($500/month) is billed monthly and can be canceled any time before the next billing date.

Larger engagements

Nonprofit readiness assessments, governance work, data analysis, and custom AI agents are covered by a separate written proposal or agreement.

Guides and downloads

Digital products are sold through Gumroad. You get a personal license to use them in your own business or organization.

Refunds and rescheduling

• Workshops: no refunds. Every registration includes the recording, so if you can't make it live, you can still watch it.
• Setups and builds: the 50% deposit holds your start date and isn't refundable. If you need to move your start date, tell me at least 48 hours ahead and the deposit carries over to the new date. The balance isn't charged until your build is live.
• Guides and downloads: because they're delivered instantly, they're non-refundable. If a file doesn't work, email me and I'll make it right.

To cancel or ask for a refund, email hello@aligned-ai.co. Refunds go back to the original payment method.

Working together

• Your tools stay yours. I build inside software you own and control. You're responsible for your own subscriptions to those tools and for following their terms.
• Access. You give me the access I need and can remove it at any time. I'll use it only for your project.
• Your review. You review anything that goes out to your customers, donors, or team before it goes live. AI tools can make mistakes, so builds are set up so nothing important goes out without a person seeing it first.
• Ownership. Once paid in full, what I build for you is yours to use and change. I keep ownership of my general methods, templates, and know-how, and may reuse them for other clients without your information.
• Confidentiality. I keep your business information private and use it only for your work. Happy to sign a confidentiality agreement if you need one.
• Talking about the work. I won't name you as a client or share your results without your permission.

Results

I work hard to get you real results, and I'll tell you honestly what I think a build can do. But outcomes depend on many things outside my control, like your market, your team, and how the setup is used, so I can't guarantee specific results such as more revenue, leads, or hours saved. Examples on this site show what happened for particular clients, not a promise of the same results.

Limits on liability

To the extent the law allows, I'm not responsible for indirect or consequential losses, like lost profits or lost data, and my total responsibility for any claim is limited to what you paid me for the product or service it relates to. I'm also not responsible for outages, changes, or errors in third-party tools such as your CRM, email platform, or AI providers.

Disagreements

If something goes wrong, email me first and we'll try to sort it out directly. These terms are governed by the laws of North Carolina, USA.

Changes

I may update these terms. The date at the top shows the latest version. Purchases are covered by the terms in place when you bought.
