What I collect, and what I do with it.

Who I am

Aligned-AI (aligned-ai.co) is the consulting practice of Lara Jackson, based in North Carolina, USA. When this policy says "I" or "me," that's who it means. Questions about your information go to hello@aligned-ai.co.

What I collect

Information you give me

• Free tools and templates. Your first name and email address when you unlock the free tools or the AI policy template.
• The AI Readiness quiz. Your name, email address, your answers, and your score.
• Bookings. Your name, email, any notes you add, and the time you choose when you book a call or a workshop. Paid bookings also collect payment details, which the payment processor handles. I never see or store your full card number.
• Purchases. Your name, email, and order details when you buy a guide or download.
• Email and calls. Anything you send me directly.
• Client work. If you hire me, the access and business information you share so I can do the work. See "Client work" below.

Information collected automatically

• Analytics. I use Google Analytics to see which pages get read and how people find the site: pages visited, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and how you arrived. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. It loads only after you scroll, click, or spend a few seconds on the page.
• Your browser's storage. The quiz and the free tools save a small note in your own browser (local storage) so you don't have to unlock things twice. That stays on your device. Clearing your browser data removes it.
• Hosting logs. The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard server logs (such as IP address and the page requested) for security and reliability.

How I use it

• To send what you asked for: the tool, template, quiz results, booking confirmation, or recording.
• To send my newsletter and occasional emails about workshops and offers, if you signed up for something that includes them. Every email has an unsubscribe link.
• To run calls, audits, workshops, and client projects.
• To understand which pages are useful and improve the site.
• To keep records I'm required to keep, like invoices and payments.

I don't sell your personal information, and I don't share it for anyone else's advertising.

The tools that handle your information

Like most small businesses, I use other companies' software to run things. Each one only gets what it needs to do its job:

• Kit (ConvertKit): email signups and newsletters
• Zoho Forms: quiz results
• Cal.com: scheduling, with payments processed by Stripe
• Gumroad: sales of guides and downloads
• Google Workspace and Google Meet: email, documents, and live workshops
• HubSpot: keeping track of contacts and conversations
• Google Analytics: site analytics
• Vercel: website hosting

These companies are based in the United States or process data there. Each has its own privacy policy.

I may also share information if the law requires it, or if the business is ever sold or merged, in which case this policy would still apply to what you already gave me.

Client work

If you hire me, I may need access to your tools, files, or customer data to do the build. I use it only for your project. I don't copy it into my own tools unless the work requires it, and I delete or return what I have when we wrap up, unless you ask me to keep it. Some builds use AI tools to process your information. When they do, I tell you which tools, and nothing goes out to your customers without you seeing it first. If your work needs a signed confidentiality or data agreement, ask me and we'll put one in place before we start.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom.
• Ask to see, correct, or delete the information I have about you by emailing hello@aligned-ai.co. I'll reply within 30 days. I may need to keep some records, like payment records, for tax and legal reasons.
• Block analytics with your browser's cookie settings or Google's opt-out add-on. The site works the same either way.

Depending on where you live (for example, California or the EU), you may have additional rights under local law. Email me and I'll honor them.

How long I keep it

I keep email list information until you unsubscribe or ask me to delete it. I keep booking, payment, and client records as long as I need them for the work and for tax and legal purposes, usually up to seven years for financial records.

Security

I use reputable tools, strong passwords, and two-factor sign-in where it's offered. Nothing online is perfectly secure, so if something ever goes wrong that affects your information, I'll tell you.

Children

This site is for businesses and organizations. It isn't meant for children under 16, and I don't knowingly collect their information.

Changes

If I change this policy, I'll update the date at the top. If the change is significant, I'll say so on the site or by email.
